A Letter from Dr. Smiley

A Note from Dr. Holowicki:

I would like to personally congratulate Dr. Smiley on his upcoming retirement. We have worked together for almost 20 years and he will certainly be missed. I consider myself fortunate to have worked, learned, and grown as a dentist under his guidance. Through his mentorship, I became a part of a growing practice known for its personalized patient care, and friendly welcoming atmosphere. Smiley Dental Group will continue to operate under the same name with the same commitment, professionalism, and quality of care that we have delivered to our patients since the beginning.

In addition, I would like to thank all of our patients for your continued trust and confidence in permitting me to care for you. I look forward to serving you and your families for many more years to come. I am truly excited to see my patients each day, and I am honored to be your dentist. I also highly encourage patients to stop by our office to meet myself, Dr. Moore, and Dr. Renshaw. Please feel free to reach out to me personally with any questions you may have. We look forward to seeing you at your next appointment.

Sincerely,

Dr. Jeffrey J. Holowicki

Dr. Smiley’s Retirement Letter:

As I sit down to finally write this letter, I am filled with such mixed emotions. But I am steadfast in the knowledge that all things must have a beginning and an end. I am writing to let you know I will be retiring from my practice on December 22, 2021.

As a life-long planner, I have been planning for this transition from the beginning of my practice. I knew that at the end of my career, what I wanted – and owed my patients – was for their care to be in the hands of a wonderful dentist that they could trust. I wanted them to have a dentist that I would see for my own dental work. Dr. Holowicki has been my dentist for over 20 years. He joined the practice right out of dental school. I knew he could assume my role the moment I met him, and it has been very fulfilling to mentor him as he became an excellent practicing dentist. Dr. Holowicki has also been a leader in the Dublin community. He and his lovely wife, Kristen, will continue to maintain the high standards of care and excellence that you have come to expect in this practice.

Dr. Moore has been my patient all of his life. Actually, his parents were my patients before he was born. He’s a caring person and a talented dentist. Dr. Renshaw is the newest addition to our team, but she has been a practicing dentist for eleven years and came highly recommended by my colleagues. She is a wonderful addition to the practice. Thanks to these professionals, I feel comfortable retiring knowing you will be in the best of hands.

I also want to thank our fabulous staff and all of the staff I have worked with over the last 38 years. They are the main reason for the success of the practice. I have been fortunate to be surrounded by people who understand that caring for patients is a privilege.

It has been the greatest honor and pleasure to have been part of your families. I have seen two, three, and even four generations of the same family. Taking care of you has been so rewarding. I leave my practice with a full heart knowing I will take with me many friendships and good memories.

I am looking forward to the future with Susan, my first patient, whom I have been married to for 40 years. She is the love of my life and we have been together before we started the practice from scratch. I look forward to many more years together as we make more good memories.

Please make a point to say hi to me when you see me. May God bless you and your families.

All the Best

Samuel E. Smiley, DDS
